About the Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program in the TRADES Industry:

 

Interested in pursuing employment in the trades while also learning about clean energy?

With the help of Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), the MassHire North Shore Workforce Board’s (MH-NSWB), this Sustainable Energy Pre-Apprenticeship Trades Training Program seeks to provide individuals living on the North Shore an opportunity to receive grant approved training in the trades industry, with job placement assistance provided by MASSHIRE North Shore Career Center.

This clean energy workforce training initiative will work with partners and service residents in the North Shore region of Massachusetts, with a specific focus on Environmental Justice (EJ) neighborhoods and communities. Job opportunities after completing this training may include titles such as Construction Laborer, Building Maintenance Worker, Solar Panel Installer, Carpentry Apprentice, HVAC Installer, Pipe /Steam Fitters, and Wind Turbine Technicians. Additionally, future job opportunities for graduates of this program may include assisting with the construction of the future Salem Wind Port. The goal of this program is to provide interested individuals in EJ communities an opportunity to connect and build direct pathways to employment through MH-NSWB and help fill diversity gaps within the clean energy sector.
