About the Healthcare Training Program
No Cost Training and Job Opportunities
The MASSHIRE North Shore Workforce Board was awarded over $2.4 million to provide training in healthcare occupations to unemployed, underemployed, and incumbent workers at partner employer organizations. Developing trainees in these vocations will help create solutions to healthcare staffing challenges and shortages across the Northeast Region of MA as well as creating a career pathway for healthcare professionals.
This three-year grant, awarded by the Commonwealth Corporation, offers qualified individuals training in rewarding careers as Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Radiology Technician Surgical Technician, Central Sterile Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, Dental Assistant and Emergency Medical Technician. These credit and non-credit programs vary in length from 90 hours to 2 years. Most consist of hands-on, classroom training. Successful completion will lead to accreditation in these disciplines and job placement assistance.
