What is SkillBase?

SkillBase is a new free website designed to get you ready to succeed in whatever career you hope to take on. The site was created by a group of Harvard students and is meant to help job candidates find free resources on how to upgrade a résumé, use digital technology at work, code, practice professional English, and gain critical certificates needed to land a future job.

How Can SkillBase Help?

Since the downward turn in the economy and the global health crisis has millions of people in our country and thousands of people closer to home searching for work, this site can help candidates sharpen their skills while simultaneously looking for employment.

The designers of SkillBase have done quite a bit of behind-the-scenes work on identifying the skills deemed “most wanted” by employers across industries and job roles. Once they determined the most sought after skills, the content needed was formed from that knowledge. They have researched and determined that the content is trustworthy and easy-to-use for all levels of education.

The Goals of SkillBase

The ultimate goal of this site is to help workers, like you, through a potential career transition or developing job-related skills through: vetting career resources, making navigation easy for users, and it’s all free!

Users of the site can choose between three different pathways, including:

  • Finding & Getting a Job
  • Going Digital at Home and at Work
  • Learning English for Work
